Writing a new self concept #1

Realizing I am only meant to be me

Realizing I am only meant to be me is one of the most powerful (yet painful) things I’ve ever learned. So many times I have purposefully gotten uncomfortable with my own choices just to feel like I fit somewhere or like I am accepted for some people. But once I understood none of that was necessary it really reshaped the way I see and think about things and, of course, myself.

Being me means denying anything that is not me. This concept may be easy to understand, but when it comes down to really leaving places, people and habits behind… well… that’s far from easy. It’s actually a beautiful process, though. I have to say it — and I can, since I am currently living it.

I have to choose, everyday, to abandon thinking patterns I have been comfortable with. And even though they hurt me and scarred me, it’s hard to simply spot identifying with them. But “hard” has never stopped me. I am here to change. I am here to learn. And I choose to change those patterns into better ones. I choose to realize how powerful and limitless I am, and I claim and declare all the things I deserve.

I claim all the abundance I deserve. I claim all the health my body can experience. I claim all the love I crave and deserve to receive. I claim all the respect I deserve. I claim all the recognition I deserve. I claim the ability to enjoy the freedom I already have. I claim. And I shall receive.
